Scott Andersen, LAC

LIcensed Associate Counselor

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right counselor is an important part of the process. My goal is to create a space where you feel welcomed, heard, and accepted—just as you are. Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you don't have to navigate it alone.

I believe healing happens through connection. That's why I take a person-centered approach to counseling, meeting you with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Together, we'll identify what's getting in the way of the life and relationships you want, while building practical skills and lasting change. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and EMDR to tailor therapy to your unique goals and experiences.

Couples

Helping couples reconnect is one of my greatest passions. Whether you're struggling with communication, trust, conflict, or recovering from betrayal, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners better understand one another, strengthen emotional connection, and rebuild a secure relationship. My goal is to help couples move from feeling stuck to feeling like they're on the same team again.

Men's Mental Health

Many men carry stress, anxiety, or emotional burdens without feeling they have a place to talk about them. I provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where men can explore life's challenges, strengthen relationships, improve emotional well-being, and develop practical strategies for moving forward with confidence.

Trauma Recovery

Trauma can affect how we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I help clients process difficult experiences so they no longer feel defined by the past. Healing is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.

Children and Teens

Working with children and teens is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice. I believe counseling should be a place where young people feel safe, valued, and even look forward to coming. Through engaging, age-appropriate therapy, I help children and adolescents build confidence, emotional resilience, healthy coping skills, and a stronger understanding of themselves. I enjoy partnering with parents to support growth both inside and outside the counseling room.

A Little About Me

Before becoming a counselor, I spent more than 20 years in the corporate world and proudly served in the military. Those experiences taught me the value of leadership, resilience, and perseverance while helping me understand the challenges of balancing work, family, and personal well-being. Earning my MBA also gave me insight into the pressures many professionals and families face.

I've been married to my high school sweetheart for more than 25 years and am the proud father of two. Family is at the heart of who I am. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, distance running, snowboarding, and cycling.

I believe everyone has a unique story. My role isn't to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you discover your strengths, overcome challenges, and create the life you want.

Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here. It would be an honor to support you as you find healing, hope, and lasting change.
